Congressional Deference in Trade Policy
[ send me this paper ]
An 8 page paper discussing the
appearance that the office of the President overrides congressional involvement in trade
negotiations. Though Congress allows the President to negotiate matters of trade, it does not
extend its deference to include relinquishing its right and responsibility to approve the results
of those negotiations. Congress does retain ultimate control. Because members of Congress
are accountable to the voters placing them in their positions, the arrangement is one favorable
to society as a whole. Bibliography lists 6 sources.

Expropriation And/Or Nationalization Of Property According To International Law
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. International Law was established as a means by which to allow for fair and appropriate global interaction. When first implemented, international law was comprehensive enough to address virtually every potential situation that might arise; however, since the middle of the twentieth century, the very foundation upon which international law is based has not been strong or secure enough to adequately remedy myriad issues. Primary to this breakdown has been the continuing increase in cross-border capital flows since World War II's close; as such, the ongoing changes multinational corporations imparted upon states could not be addressed as they related to international law, with particular emphasis placed upon expropriation and/or nationalization of property.
